The More you Eat, The More you Hunger

I recently finished a book series based on 5 extraordinary women of the Bible: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary. The series is entitled A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers.

It seems the more I learn about these remarkable young women, the more I want to know. I hunger for answers to my questions. I yearn to know more about their lives. There is only one way for that to happen; I must read my Bible and seek God for answers-“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matt. 7:7)

the more I read and learn the bigger the fire in my soul gets. The lineage of men and women God chose for his son, Jesus is amazing! Three out of the five women in this series were thought of as harlots-prostitutes. A bold statement is made just by Jesus’ lineage. The poorest of the poor, the desolate, the ones no one loved and the ones who had sinned greatly were the people who made-up the lineage of Jesus.

This is so very humbling. Jesus chose to be born of a family who made HUGE mistakes in their lives, who were hurt deeply and even of the “outsiders” and poor.

Rahab was a prostitute, Bathsheba and David committed adultery, Ruth was one of the poorest people in Bethlehem for a time-picking wheat that was left in the fields for the poorest of the poor. Tamar was cheated by her first and second husband and Mary was a commoner. This is who God chose to be born of.

It shows that no matter your station in life God can use you for great things if only you repent and believe in him. Let him guide your steps and let him use your past mistakes to bring glory to him.  “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 28:8)

I encourage you, read your Bible and learn, God will give you a hunger for him and his word you have never felt before!!!

Grow in Christ and Let him shine through you shining out your Innermost Unfading Beauty!

Prayers and Blessings,
